The Jewell Art Gallery
A contemporary approach with contrast. The intention with this design was to inspire creativity and provide an aesthetic that the university hadn’t previously seen. The design sparked into life with the initial site visit and consultation with the students. They hoped to gain a fluid and transparent space that provided a venue to learn and showcase their aptitude for art, music and dance.

Having sparked the creative juices I set about analysing a form that would suit the topography of the site and add dimension this baron part of the campus. Having determined an ideal platform level, upon which to start the building took on a linear form that was stacked upon intersecting axes. Also key to the concept was the elemental materials used, such as; concrete, wood, stone glass, vegetation and metal. Presenting the concept to the review panel at the campus was a success leading to the commission of the design development phase of the project.

3 Flights Up Photography Studio
A studio that shifts focus beyond photography. With the slogan of Capture, Create and Co-work driving the design needs for this project, it was paramount that we blend spaces and blur the lines functions. Utilizing an existing structure proved useful and unearthing the raw fixtures created a pre-determined aesthetic that needed very minimal influence to achieve the industrial chic look that the client was after.

Designing versatile spaces within a large open plan factory by utilizing the varying volumes and creating niche zones only separated by floor textures gave way to unobstructed movement between immersive infinity walls, green screen areas, postproduction offices, photography booths and even a fully kitted sales gallery.
